Areas of responsibility include providing operational and logistical support to ensure effective program delivery and staff within and across multiple programs. This includes developing professional, consistent, and relevant tools and resources that support effective information sharing and integration in program areas and service locations.Responsibilities

  • Supporting the logistics of program delivery, training activities and events
  • Helping to Lead Activities – The YMCA has established and regular times for our Active Living programs and events. The role of the Active Living Support staff is to co-lead or provide two deep leadership for activities with another staff person – helping to ensure they are safe, inclusive and organized
  • Contribution to YMCA Centre for Immigrant Programs – operating a community based Centre for Immigrant Programs is a collaborative effort on the part of all our program areas and all of our program staff

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines and tasks
  • Ability to work independently and requires minimal supervision to complete tasks and respond to unanticipated items
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both in one one-on-one and group settings
  • Experience working with seniors, children and families
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g.., Publisher, Excel, and Word, Office 365 apps etc.)
  • Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment in the handling of confidential information
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment with varying situations
  • Additional Language is an asset.

Conditions of Employment

  • Clear Child Abuse Register Check
  • Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (must be dated less than 6 months from hire date)
  • Completion of YMCA’s Child Safety & Protection Orientation within first week of employment
  • Completion of YMCA Child Safeguarding Training within probationary period
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificate if required for the role
