Job SummaryAs stewards of the campus, Facilities Management fosters and enriches an inviting and functional environment that welcomes and supports all who come here. Facilities Management’s customers include Deans, departments, faculty, staff and students. The department’s branches work together as a team to ensure a high standard of customer service delivery, as well as the effective, efficient and safe performance for the operation, development and maintenance of campus buildings.The Classroom Surveyor provides support to the Classroom Inventory Project lead by Facilities Management, and in collaboration with University Systems. The Classroom Surveyor collects data about each classroom’s accessibility and overall condition. Information gathered will used to create a public database that provides classroom details for instructors, students and the general public which will be featured on the Facilities Management website. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, proficiency in data management, and a commitment to teamwork.Job Requirements

  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong data management and organization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to working effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain a well-organized work area.
  • Comfort and familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word is required.

Preference given for:

  • Familiarity with Canadian Standards Association (CSA) B651-23 Accessibility Standard
  • Familiarity with the Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification (RHFAC) Rating System
  • Knowledge of maintenance materials and University buildings & grounds and auditing the built environment according to a set criteria
  • Applicants with lived experience with disability.
