If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Police Services team as a Fleet Maintenance Technician!
In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that our fleet of police vehicles stays in top-notch condition. Your tasks will include monitoring vehicle repair and servicing needs, scheduling repairs, and coordinating with service providers to ensure timely maintenance. You’ll also have the chance to handle ordering services and supplies, as well as preparing records for vehicle maintenance expenditures and inventory.
As a crucial member of our team, you’ll work independently within general guidelines, taking ownership of the proper maintenance of our police fleet vehicles. And don’t worry, we’ll be here to support you every step of the way, providing feedback to help you deliver the best service possible.
If you’re looking for a rewarding role where you can contribute to the safety and efficiency of our operations, we’d love to have you on board!EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Completion of the 12th school grade plus sound related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:Sound knowledge of the RCMP policies, practices, and procedures applicable to the work performed.Sound knowledge of automotive equipment related to the work performed.Working knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.Ability to perform simple visual checks of completed vehicle servicing and repair work.Ability to operate common office equipment including a computer terminal.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various internal and external contacts including established suppliers.Ability to perform a variety of clerical, record-keeping, expenditure monitoring, and related clerical tasks.Ability to perform simple vehicle maintenance tasks.Skill in the operation of automobiles and vans.Some mechanical aptitude.LICENSES & CERTIFICATES:Class 5 Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia.Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP Security Clearance and successful completion of police field enquiries.HOURS OF WORK:This is a regular part-time position scheduled for 21 hours per week.
