Canada Cartage Fleet Maintenance located on Higgins Ave in Winnipeg is seeking candidates for the position of Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic
Reporting to the Winnipeg Fleet Administrative Manager, the Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic is responsible for repairing and maintaining the Winnipeg tractor and trailer fleet.
Duties and Responsibilities
Employ diagnostic methodologies to determine repairs required to tractors and trailers
Conduct repairs on tractors and trailers
Maintain equipment employing industry “Best Standard” practices
Generating complete and accurate repair orders
Ensures all parts are recorded on Repair Orders
Assists in assembling warranty situations, and ensure appropriate documentation and notification is complete
Respond to on the road breakdown alerts and arrange for repairs
Order parts as required
Qualifications
Level 2 or higher apprentice or licensed journeyperson
High school preferred
Welding/fabrication skills considered an asset
Experience with reefers and heaters considered an asset
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Able to work as part of a large team
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
Ability to multi task and be flexible with the companies ever changing needs
