Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting, this role will be responsible for financial reporting responsibilities such as preparation of financial statements, financial reporting packages, account reconciliations, technical IFRS analysis and more. Our finance teams take a progressive approach, involving technology, software and new ways to find scalable solutions to daily financial challenges.
Location: Open to Winnipeg, MB or Toronto, ON
Hybrid Work Setting (2 Days On Site)
What’s On Your Plate:
Preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with IFRS
Preparation of monthly financial reporting packages for parent company
Work closely with the global financial reporting team to align the Group accounting manual with new business initiatives
Preparation of position papers on both new initiatives and existing key transaction streams
Preparation of monthly journal entries and working papers to apply relevant accounting standards
Assist with the implementation of new financial systems and softwares
Coordinate collection of audit documentation for yearly audit
Ad Hoc project management
Recipe For Success:
CPA Designation *
3 + Years of relevant accounting experience preferred
Strong financial reporting background with extensive knowledge of IFRS
Experience preparing financial position papers
Strong computer skills and advanced knowledge of Excel
Ability to identify and improve processes for increased efficiency
Approachable with effective cross-functional communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally
Have strong prioritization skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within the Finance team
Demonstrated adaptability and ability to work well under pressure
Thrive in a fast-paced environment
Take initiative, identify issues, and approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset
Deliver reporting, analysis, and general accounting by collaborating with business leaders across the organization
Ability to translate complex financial concepts in terms easily understood by stakeholders
Knowledge of Google Workspace, PowerBI, or SQL considered an asset
Experience in Workday Financial considered an asset
