Job description: Our client, Hansen Electric, an industry leader, is seeking a skilled Property Developer for one of its subsidiary property companies. In this role, you will be essential in overseeing and managing the development of site plans. Your responsibilities will include coordinating tasks and contractors, acquiring construction sites, handling design and permits, evaluating current conditions, estimating costs, and projecting future value.DutiesOverseeing and managing the development of site plans, including the evaluation of current conditions, estimation, and the projection of future value.Examining and analyzing the existing economic, demographic, market, and environmental variables to determine areas for expansionReviewing sites to assess costs and required steps for zoning, local ordinances, and acceptabilityLiaising and working closely with contractors, realtors, engineers, designers, municipal government officials, attorneys, and several other required and necessary professionalsIdentifying and examining the development potential of specific tracts of landChoosing sites for commercial, residential, and/or industrial developmentHiring contractors and recruiting workers to execute real estate project developmentSpearheading the negotiation of terms and costs with contractors.Weekly Management Meetings to review status of projects.Education/ExperienceExcellent verbal and written communication skills, since a real estate developer must communicate efficiently with clients, contractors, workers, and several other professionalsStrong interpersonal and teamwork skills, since he/she must liaise and work closely with attorneys, construction workers, and other necessary and relevant professionalsBasic accounting and financial management skills, as it enables a real estate developer to handle the budgeting aspect of real estate development effectively and efficientlyComputer proficiency and familiarity with basic office software such as the Microsoft Office SuiteGood time management skills, since a developer must ensure that real estate development projects are executed on timeAdequate knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulationsSeveral years of professional experience in a relevant fieldA bachelor’s degree in marketing, architecture, management, construction management or in another similar field.All interested candidates are asked to apply or contact Mike MacLeod at MikeM@nlgrp.com or (902) 620 – 0704.
