Position: Ophthalmic Assistant
Department: Ambulatory Care – Eye Clinic
Status: Permanent Part-time (must provide availability of up to 0.3 FTE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, days, 0700 – 1500; 0800 – 1600 (subject to change based on operational requirements)

This is what you’ll be doing:
To provide care to patients and their families who visit the eye clinic. Specifically, to perform Humphrey Visual Field Testing, Pachymetry, Lensometry, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and work-ups (including but not limited to taking history, V/A and IOP checks, pupil assessments, color tests and instilling drops).

- J.C.A.H.P.O Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) highly preferred
- Certification from recognized institution
- Experience with OCT required
- Experience with EMR
- Excellent knowledge of Humphrey Visual Field Testing, including software
- Knowledge in the use of manual Lensometer
- Excellent skills to function independently and with the interdisciplinary team
- Strong knowledge and skills of providing care to a full range of patients, specifically to elder care
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Satisfactory attendance and employment record
