The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.The successful applicant may be eligible for an annual full-time incentive of up to $2,000 each year until 2025 as per MOU #31 of the current MNU collective agreement.Position OverviewIntensive Community Re-Integration Service works in partnership with Montcalm School and other MATC program areas to provide psychiatric assessments, consultation and day treatment for children and adolescents with complex multi-diagnostic issues. This Nursing position works within an interdisciplinary team and provides a range of interventions. The clients in the service will range in age from 9 – 17 years and have a primary presentation of Autism, Tourette Syndrome, ADHD, Anxiety, Intellectual disability and have a broad range of behavioral, emotional and mental health concerns that impact on their home, school and community environments. Services are delivered using a family centered approach within an intensive outpatient day treatment service model approach.Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Experience in group therapy preferred.
  • Training and demonstrated skill in several clinical modalities.
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, and mental health issues in childhood and adolescence with an emphasis on Tourette’s, ADHD, ASD, Intellectual disability and Anxiety.
  • Knowledge of various neurological disorders, eg. autism, cognitive disabilities, genetic syndromes.
  • Must be familiar with psychotropic medications.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

Education and Prevention Coordinator (Elora, Ontario)
  • Graduate from an approved program in Psychiatric Nursing or Nursing. (BSc.P.N., B.Sc. M.H. or B.Sc.N. preferred).
  • Experience in psychiatry is essential. Child and Adolescent Mental Health experience preferred.


  • Staff not licensed/registered with a legislated professional body must be registered/certified with an appropriate Association.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary health team.
  • Must be familiar with current behavioural strategies and interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, families and community partners to provide assessment, education, and interventions.
  • Provide treatment interventions for children, adolescents, and families.
  • Establish and maintain professional working relationships with the system supports affiliated with the neurodevelopmental community.
  • Provide consultation and education around medication and monitoring of side effects.
  • Administers and monitors effects of medications and related health care procedures.
  • Supports and provides education to parents and caregivers.
  • Provides education to the community.
  • Provides support to psychiatrist in a clinical setting as required.
  • Maintain documentation as required.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates client treatment plans.
