This is a temporary student role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. We are looking for one exceptional Student currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program to join our team of Shipbuilders.


· Education: Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program from the following areas:

o Naval Architecture Engineering

o Electrical Engineering

o Mechanical Engineering

o Industrial Engineering

o Civil Engineering

· Strong academic performance and a desire to excel.

· Proven leadership in professional, athletic, school or community pursuits

· Interest in the shipbuilding, defense, or marine industry and a desire to join an exciting, fast-paced organization.

· Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, openness to learning new technology.

· Skilled in organizing and managing a variety of tasks with varying priorities and is a fast learner and effective problem solver.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides accurate status reports on assigned activities to the relevant Capability Lead.
  • Evaluates documentation products related to the design, integration, and test of CS.
  • Supports the development of plans, procedures, and processes in support of program requirements.
  • Ensures that the physical and functional interfaces of the CS are identified, defined, and approved via Interface Control Documentation.
  • Participates in design, integration, and test activities to ensure that fully compliant and certified CS design solutions are provided in accordance with sound engineering practice.
  • Liaises with subject matter experts for systems and operations that impact CS system design to ensure compatibility, interoperability, personnel safety, and restrictions on use.
  • Supports the coordination of scheduling, planning, and conduct CS related activities to ensure that related program milestones are met.
