Dedicated to an inclusive and accessible approach to understanding its ever-changing student community, Student Services is proactive and responsive to the needs of SFU students and determined to meet its students where they’re at with innovative and student-centric initiatives.About the RoleThe Deputy Registrar, Enrolment Management provides senior leadership and strategy for strategic enrolment management (SEM) portfolios, including undergraduate recruitment, admissions, scholarship, awards and student aid. This position is integral for the university to meet its budgetary goals through new student enrolment and will be measured against institutional key performance indicators. In addition, this role leads the implementation of the Registrar’s strategic direction, ensuring the effective operation of the Registrar’s Office and its alignment to university plans, frameworks and community needs. Serving as a strategic advisor to the Registrar, this role provides insights, data and evidence to support the Registrar in decision-making and informs institutional strategy, and acts as Acting Registrar when requiredQualificationsMaster’s degree in Education or Business Administration and eight years of related senior level management experience in areas such as post-secondary recruitment, admissions, strategic enrolment management, financial aid or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of Canadian and international secondary and post-secondary education systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of post-secondary recruitment and admissions practices in British Columbia.
  • Knowledge of relevant BC legislation including The University Act and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent analytical reasoning, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
