About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Unit Clerk contributes to the effective operation of the nursing unit by acting as the central communication person (for the unit). The Unit Clerk performs reception, clerical and administrative duties following hospital policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of maturity and discretion in handling confidential matters.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade XII plus one year related clerical experience or recognized one year secretarial/business program
  • Previous unit clerk experience preferred
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology an asset
  • Experience using STAR, PHS, SHARE, HPF and Millenium preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm during an emergency and deal with numerous interruptions and continuous change an asset
  • Knowledge of computers and typing required
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates problem solving and decision making skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

Permanent, Full Time; 70 hours bi-weekly

Compensation and Incentives

$20.09 – $21.91 Hourly
