As an Area Quality Manager you would be responsible for all food safety and quality aspects within your specific department. You will be a key member of the Local Committee and contribute to ensuring the department is producing our fantastic products meeting all quality and safety standards.Nestlé Halifax Factory in West Yorkshire is the home of the iconic confectionary brand Quality Street amongst several other well-known brands such as Quality Street and After Eight. These are produced through controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines.A day in the life of an Area Quality ManagerContribute as a member of the area Local Committee and factory Quality Assurance team. Work with the team to create and maintain compliance in hygiene, food safety and qualityDeliver quality objectives such as complaints reduction, foreign body reduction and First Time Right (FTR) improvementsEnsure GMP is maintained at the required standard for the areaSupport the Nestlé Continuous Excellence programme in the quest for zero defectsTake a lead on delivering quality within the area to reduce lossesCarry out continuous improvement activities using everyday problem solvingPromote quality awareness and the commitment to quality across the areaEnsure the successful management of quality incidents by participating in root cause analysis and ensuring corrective actions are closed outManage non routine product release and stock statusCarry out consumer complaint investigations to provide feedback and identify improvement actionsReview, update and communicate quality systems including HACCP and QMSSupport area readiness for internal and external audits (carrying out internal audits as required)Perform corrective action follow up for audit non-conformitiesWhat will make you successfulIdeally a degree or equivalent in a Science / Engineering / Quality related subjectDemonstrable experience in quality roles working in FMCG (Food and Drink) Factory environmentsAble to demonstrate working in large teams, large number of stakeholders under pressureExperience in successfully implementing quality assurance programmes, influencing at all levels within the factoryExperience of training, coaching and challenging people in reaching targetsParticipating or leading improvement projects delivering tangible quality improvementsAbility to establish relationships at all levels both externally and internallyKnowledge of working with Quality Management Systems and food safetyGood knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, products and their normsUnderstanding of auditing and verificationWhat you need to knowWhat can we offer in return?
